Temporary erosion control planning and stormwater detention and treatment were a unique challenge for the nearly 90-acre Quarry reclamation. The defunct aggregate mine was reclaimed per requirements enforced by the State of Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries. Rock Creek runs along the entire north edge of the property as it tumbles into the Clackamas River has approximately 2400 lf of frontage abutting the west edge. simp.L worked with DOGAMI, the County, the landowner, the former quarry operator, the developer, WES, and numerous State & Federal agencies with jurisdictional authority over the two adjacent waterways. Along with a large and diverse team of land based consultants simp.L developed innovative erosion control & temporary facilities that could be staged & phased as mass grading operations proceeded for a period of nearly three years. |
